Hey everyone,
We are the Kellums. Thanks for supporting us as we embark on our exciting homestead journey at Boos Lake Farm & Little Home Baker. Nestled in the charming town of Lindstrom, central Minnesota, our homestead sprawls across 20 acres of serene land. Amidst the bustle of our lively household, with four kids ages 10 and under, we are passionate about connecting our family to our food. There is nothing more satisfying than cooking with ingredients that you harvest from your own land, that you have raised, loved, grown, and sacrificed to feed ourselves and people in our community.
We both grew up in Lindstrom, became high school sweethearts, and worked at the local Dairy Queen. However, we did not grow up on farms. While dating, we always dreamed of living on acreage once we were married. Over the last 9 years, our dreams have only gotten bigger from purchasing our farm, adding to our poultry flock and in 2021 welcoming our first family milk cow, Mazzy. To be honest, it was not our intent to raise a family milk cow. It all started with trying to find quality farm fresh butter as I also embarked on a home cottage bakery business endeavor, Little Home Baker. We supported a few local farms, and quickly fell in love with the idea of having our own cow. What began with just three chickens on a quarter-acre has blossomed into offering a bounty of organically-raised, pastured chicken and turkey, pork, grass-fed lamb, raw milk, eggs, and Boos Lake Farm honey. Our commitment to quality extends to our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA), where seasonal abundance awaits. Take a look at our Farm Store and Bakery Menu!
